Kildeer Principal's Message- November 30th

Kildeer Principal's Message- November 30th

Kildeer Families,

Welcome back from a wonderful break last week. It's such an important time of the year for us to reset and spend time with those we love. I was able to hang up my "principal" hat for a few days and just be "mom". The snow day felt like a gift! I'm not sure how everyone views a snow day, but I saw it as a chance to get some extra snuggles with my kids. I hope that your family was able to take advantage of the snow and enjoy each other!

This week I was able to get into many classrooms. I continue to be amazed at the learning opportunities happening across Kildeer. Remember my post last time about the "exemplary" designation? If you could be a fly on the wall, you'd really see why! What fantastic talent we have at Kildeer through our amazing staff and dedicated students!

Outdoor Recess in the Winter

As a reminder as long as the wind chill is appropriate, our students will go outside for recess.  Please send the proper outdoor wear for them to be warm and enjoy the snow. For students to be able to play in the snow they need to have boots, snow pants, hats, and gloves.  Students who do not have the proper outdoor attire will have to stay on the blacktop.

Parent Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Parents who need to enter the school during the hours of 8:10-8:25 or 3:00-3:15 should please park in the North West parking lot in order to avoid walking through traffic during the busiest times of the school day. This is a safety measure in place to ensure an efficient flow of traffic while also keeping students and adults safe. During other hours of the day, it is certainly appropriate to park in the lot directly in front of the school and utilize the crosswalk.

By parking in the North West lot area during the hours of 8:10-8:25 and 3:00-3:15, you can access the sidewalk without having to move across, in front, or behind cars that are in the drop-off line.

Thank you for understanding and supporting our school for safety!

I'm really proud of a new club that was started this year. Ms. April and Ms. Ohnsted have started "Paw Prints", a newspaper club. This gives students from all grades an opportunity to lead and be the voice of our school. To close out November, please enjoy our first edition of Paw Prints–November 2018

Warm Regards,

Mrs. Vail Kieser
