Kildeer Principal's Message- November 2nd

Kildeer Principal's Message- November 2nd

Hello Kildeer Families!

I am so proud to be the Principal at Kildeer. We had a fun week with great weather. Thank you to all of the families that came out to watch the adorable parade and those that volunteered for the parties. I am amazed each year by the creativity of our students and staff. Can I admit that I really wanted to join the party to make slime? It looked like so much fun but I KNEW I needed to get to each party! Our parent volunteers were very creative and clever to make the time fun for kids!

If you'd like a peek at the parade, click HERE! You won't be disappointed with the cuteness!

Family Reading Night

Family Reading Night is Thursday, November 15th from 6:30-7:45. Families will be able to enjoy quality time reading with your child right here at Kildeer! Mrs. Smith from the Vernon Area Public Library will also be at school to share information about their library programs. In addition, we will have teachers reading aloud with fun activities to go along with each book! Our theme is Reading Takes You Everywhere.

Please keep in mind that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  There will be two sessions. Your family will decide which stations to attend.  Once a choice is made, we ask that you remain with your child inside the classroom for the entire session.  We look forward to seeing you there for this community event to celebrate READING!

On Monday, I was welcomed back to school with some treats and nice cards from the office staff, as well as other faculty members. It's "Principal Appreciation" month and I felt the love for sure!

A story from this year that made me smile was a conversation during a "picnic with the principal". The students asked me what I would be if I was not in education. "Oh, that's easy. I would either be a news broadcaster (I gave them a preview of what that would look like) or, how about, a Disney princess?" One of the gentlemen looked at me and said, "You know what? You could TOTALLY rock a tiara!"

Thus, my office staff made sure I had a tiara this week! Have I mentioned before that I love my job?!

School will not be in session on Tuesday, November 6th. Additionally, it's the end of the first trimester on Friday, November 9th. Please remember it is a half day of attendance and we will have our COUGAR PRIDE ASSEMBLY! Make sure to have your child sport their favorite Kildeer wear so that we can celebrate a great trimester of fun and learning!

Enjoy the weekend ahead!

Warm Regards,
