Kildeer Principal's Message- September 14th

Kildeer Principal's Message- September 14th

Hello Kildeer Families!

We celebrated with our very first BUDDY CLASSROOM this week. It's times like these that I wish you could be a "fly on the wall" to see the excitement of our students. They love the opportunity to get to know each other. Please enjoy the photo album below:

KILDEER BUDDY CLASSES CONNECT

By the way, students looked very sharp today for picture day! I always love to see the fancy outfits and fun hair. Way to go parents! I am struggling getting a 3 year-old to brush her teeth or comb her hair, so I KNOW what a big accomplishment picture day must be!

TODAY is our I AM ME...WE ARE KILDEER family celebration. To review, the purpose of this evening is to learn from and about our Kildeer families.

What can you expect when you attend TODAY from 6:00-8: 00 p.m.?

Our doors will open at 6:00! The expectation is that families travel together during the evening to share the same experiences. As soon as you enter the school, here are a couple things to be on the lookout for:

Name Badge Find Someone Who

Have each family member wear the name badge and fill in the sentence: “Ask me about….”

IDEAS:

  • Our favorite family tradition

  • Our Friday night ritual

  • The best vacation

  • A favorite dish

  • Our family structure

This will serve as a nice conversation starter for meeting new people!

  • Pick up a FIND SOMEONE WHO booklet for your family.

  • Take ONE per family, since you’ll be traveling as a family unit!

  • Use this throughout the evening to go on a scavenger hunt for families that are similar and different from yours!

  • Make sure to write down their names and any other information you want to remember!

What’s next?

Now that you have your nametags AND booklet, here are things to pay attention to while you travel as a family unit together!

-All night long!

-Throughout the entire evening, visit the booths in the small gym AND the cafeteria!

How do we end the evening?

First of all, thank you for coming and participating. “We’re part of a community. Our strength is our diversity”. Join us in the small gym at 8:00 for a final celebration!

What’s next?

-Please continue these discussions as a family. What did you learn about the Kildeer families? Who did you meet? What would you like to know more about?
