Kildeer Principal's Message-May 11th

Dear Kildeer Families,

Our staff felt completely spoiled this week by all of the generosity from YOU! It was staff appreciation week and we were able to enjoy thoughtful notes, tasty treats, and who doesn't love a new t-shirt?

Thank you for taking the time to make our fabulous educators feel appreciated. We are definitley fortunate for such a supportive community!

Last week I gave you the opportunity to tell me a little bit more about your child. Please keep those responses coming. I've enjoyed hearing about all of the many talents from our Kildeer students. Click HERE to share!

Summer Reading for Student Growth

Having students continue to read during the summer when school is not in session is extremely important to their academic growth and to prevent them from losing academic progress.

Because our goal is to have our students continue to read for pleasure, we offer grade-level-specific book suggestion lists of various genres to appeal to a variety of interests.

Also, grade levels have assigned specific activities as well as a student interest inventory to complete and return at the beginning of the school year.

Please CLICK HERE to find your student's parent letter (including required grade-level activity), book suggestions, and reader interest inventory, listed by 2018-2019 grade level.

Questions? Please contact the school office.

Speaking of appreciation, I want to thank all of the parents that came to Kildeer on Wednesday morning to enjoy some coffee and breakfast. This is a small token of OUR appreciation for the fabulous ways parents contribute to our school. We are very fortunate with the support and partnership that we have from our families.

I need to specifically recognize our PTO executive board: Jodi, Alicia, Kim, Yvonne, Marlene, Andrea, Laura, Rebecca, and Dana. Your dedication and commitment to our school goes above and beyond. I've enjoyed our time together this year and continue to be in awe of your thoughtfulness. It's an absolute honor to work alongside you!

With that said, I'm really hoping to see a great turnout for our family picnic tonight. I was unable to attend last year due to the timing of having my son. I am so excited to bring my kids tonight and play my other favorite role besides principal: MOM! See you there!

Warm Regards,

Mrs. Vail Kieser
