Another week has come and gone, but we haven't skipped a beat! The students are still enjoying the ABC Countdown, and we think it's safe to say that Mr. Pazol enjoyed King Day just as much as the kids!
*New information* Girls on the Run Community Impact Project
Calling all Kildeer Cougars! We are at War...A Penny War!
You have a mission:
What?: Bring in your pennies to win the war for your grade level
Where?: Put your pennies in your grade level's bucket located near Exploration Lab
When?: Monday, May 22- Friday, June 2
Why?: To raise money for the Second City Canine Rescue
Objective: Bring in as many pennies as you can to help your grade level win the war. Bring in your silver coins and dollar bills to "ambush" the other grade levels by cancelling out pennies.
Winner: The winning grade level will be recognized at the final Cougar Pride Assembly.
Girls on the Run is excited to be starting their Community Impact Project and can't wait to get the whole school involved in raising money for an organization that brings dogs to homes and loving families. Your War Powers will contribute to a great cause and bring dogs home.
Thanks for your participation!

*New information* Beginning Orchestra Parent Info Night: 3RD GRADE PARENTS ONLY
You and your 3rd grade son or daughter are invited to attend the BEGINNING ORCHESTRA NIGHT on Wednesday, May 31st, 2017 at Twin Groves Middle School at 7:00 pm.
All 4th graders in District 96 have the opportunity to learn to play a string instrument; students receive a small group lesson as well as an orchestra rehearsal weekly. There is no cost for the lessons; parents need to rent an instrument, purchase the necessary books as well as a concert polo shirt. The orchestra program continues all the way through 8th grade, and our students go on to participate in high school and beyond.
Your child will already have tried each of the instruments. It is at this time on May 31st that you will be able to sign up to take part in District 96’s Orchestra Program. Information on instrument rental, music books and polo shirts will be available at the meeting.
Please feel free to contact Mrs. Ok at [email protected]. if you have any questions. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please visit the District 96 website at kcsd96.org under Band/Orchestra.
Field Day is June 2nd!
Children spend a portion of the day outside. It is advised that you apply sunscreen in the morning. Children can also bring sunscreen, but we cannot apply it. Please practice having your child apply their own sunscreen. It is also advised that you dress your child knowing they'll be in the sun if you are concerned about too much sun, such as wearing a long sleeve light weight/light colored shirt. Children can also wear hats and sunglasses. Children can bring water bottles. Please label your child's water bottle with their name. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

The opportunity to get your child started with the Band program is now here! Before the end of this school year, all 4th graders will have the chance to learn about the band program and sign up for next year's 5th-grade Band. Please READ THIS PARENT LETTER for more details.

REGISTRATION FOR THE 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR
Please help us secure our section numbers (number of classrooms) for all grade levels by registering NOW! The faster parents register, the earlier new positions can be hired. We sincerely appreciate your help to secure new positions as early as possible. Section numbers are completely based upon enrollment. We cannot depend on your child being here unless he/she has been registered. Our ladies in the front office will be following up with families that have not yet registered over the next few weeks. Thanks for supporting us at Kildeer!
