Ivy Hall PTO Dedicates Book Vending Machine to Principal

At our Pizza Bingo event on Wednesday night, Ivy Hall PTO presented a gift to the Ivy Hall Wildcat community — a Book Vending Machine!

Thanks to our fundraising efforts at the annual Book Fair, free books will be provided by the PTO to each Ivy Hall student prior to summer as a summer reading book.  Starting in the 2022-23 school year, each student will receive a free book for his or her birthday (or half birthday for those with a summer birthdate).

Ivy Hall PTO dedicated the Book Vending Machine in honor of our Principal, Mr. Robert (Bob) Hanrahan, who has led Ivy Hall as Principal for the past five years.  Members of the 5th grade class, who have been at Ivy Hall during the same years as Principal Hanrahan has, were on hand to share a few words in presentation of the vending machine:

"Principal Hanrahan, five years ago we walked into this school as incoming first graders, with you walking in as our new principal.  We and our families hoped for an individual who would lead our school, and us, with attention, care and compassion. You have far exceeded those expectations!"

"As we walk out the Ivy Hall doors for the last time as 5th graders next month,                         we will forever be grateful for your leadership, your attention to every student, and commitment to providing us with the best education."

"This book vending machine, which is named in your honor ~ “Bob’s Book Bank” ~ is dedicated to you, and will make free books available to every student, every year, going forward.  'Today a reader, tomorrow a leader' (quote by author and educator Margaret Fuller)."

Ivy Hall Book Vending Machine Dedicated to Principal Hanrahan

Thank You, Wildcats!

Thank you to the Wildcat community for your support of our Maria Papageorgiou Book Fair and Pizza Bingo event this week.  We loved seeing our community come together for two of our favorite events.  Special thanks to all of our chairpeople and volunteers for their time and dedication to make these events happen!

Closing A Chapter on the Spring Book Fair

The Maria Papageorgiou  Book Fair is a big event at Ivy Hall.  The kids get so excited seeing the cases and shopping for books (and journals, too).

Book Fair, however, is not possible without the amazing support of parents.  Thank you to all the parents who were able to volunteer and help run the fair.  It is crazy at times and quiet at others, but your donation of time makes the 'magic of book fair' happen.

Shopping at the Book Fair is fun for the kids, it also supports fun new additions to the school. Thank you, Ivy Hall Community for coming out and shopping at the book fair.

~ Diana Vaysberg, Book Fair Chairperson
