Thank you to everyone who volunteered or attended our Book Fair and Ice Cream Social this week! We truly appreciate your support, which allows us to make important purchases for our school and host fun community-building events for all of you.
Pop the Popcorn! It's time for MOVIE NIGHT!
Our first MOVIE NIGHT of the year is just ONE WEEK AWAY! Next Fri., Oct. 12, all 1st- and 2nd-grade students are invited to join us from 6:30–8 p.m. for a showing of Hotel Transylvania. Entry is just $5 and includes popcorn. Additional snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.
Save the Date for our MOVIE NIGHT for Grades 3–5: Fri., Oct 26. The movie is to be announced...
Please remember:
• Movie Nights are for students in the grade levels listed only; no siblings may attend.
• No blankets or pillows allowed
Congratulations to Mrs. Dolan's Class!
Mrs. Dolan's class came out on top in our annual Change Wars, collecting the most money for our Scholastic Books fundraiser. Each student in Mrs. Dolan's class received a free book and–through Scholastic's All for Books program–the proceeds of the Change Wars helps buy more books for our school and for kids in need.
General Membership Meeting– Oct. 18
Our next PTO General Membership meeting will be in two weeks–on Thurs., Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Ivy Hall Learning Center. We'd love to see you there! Attending is a great way to meet fellow parents, learn what the PTO does, and find ways you can get involved.
*REPEAT* VOLUNTEER SLOTS REMAIN! Sign up TODAY for Class Parties!
Visit MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT today to find your child's grade-level form and select ONE party to sign up for or for which to volunteer to donate supplies. Find additional information about this volunteer opportunity on the sign-up form.
Questions about classroom parties or room parents? Contact our VPs–Colleen Torf and Laura Eason– at [email protected]
*REPEAT* Volunteers, Take Note: New Visitor Badge System!
Ivy Hall's visitor check-in system has been upgraded this year and you will need to re-register if you plan to volunteer in the school this year. It's highly recommended that you stop by the office in advance to have your driver's license scanned, rather than risk waiting in a line on the day of your volunteer event. For large events (like class parties), the office will pre-print visitor badges for those already in the system. If you are not in the system, you may be delayed in entering, as you will need to visit the office to register. Please remember to bring your driver's license with you to any volunteer event.
*REPEAT* HELP WANTED! Staff Appreciation Team Needs YOU
Ivy Hall PTO provides the wonderful Staff with several Staff Appreciation events over the course of the year, including staff dinners during conferences and Staff Appreciation Week in the spring. This committee is in desperate need of additional volunteers, particularly parents with a flexible schedule (e.g., stay-at-home, work-from-home, or part-time) and a healthy dose of creativity. If this sounds like you, please reach out today to Maria Papageorgiou or Colleen Torf.
*REPEAT* Volunteers Needed! Sign up TODAY!
It was great to see those who stopped by the PTO Fair during Meet the Teacher, but for those who weren't able to, great news! All our volunteer sign-ups are now ONLINE ONLY on our MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT. Hop on over and sign up to volunteer for one of our many events this school year–there is somehting for everyone! Need help? Check out our Membership Toolkit Quick Start Guide on the Ivy Hall VIRTUAL BACKPACK.
*REPEAT* Committees In Need!
Many of our committees have started the school year without a full team. Please consider donating your time to one of the following committees:
• Breakfast with Your Buddy
• Fifth-Grade Spring Fling
• Girls' Night Out (4th-Grade Parents)
• Guys' Night Out (4th- & 5th-Grade Parents)
• Staff Appreciation
• Variety Show
Please head over to MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT today if you'd like to sign up to volunteer at these events. Contact Maria Papageorgiou or one of the committee chairs (contact info on MTK forms) if you'd be willing to get more involved by joining the committee.
LET'S BE FRIENDS!
