Dear Ivy Hall Families,

Another great week of learning is in the books! As I walk through the hallways and classrooms at Ivy Hall, I have observed that the school year is well under way and both teachers and students have settled into their new classrooms. Students have been so enthusiastic sharing with me when they have earned blue and golden paws from our Positive Behavioral Recognition Program (PAWS). Please see important dates below including notification of two safety drills that will take place next week.

Take care,

Mike Senatore

If you are interested in having your 5th grader join this club, please fill out this permission slip.

REPEAT *Student iPads*

Students use their iPads each day at school.  Please ensure that your child is charging their iPad each night so they are prepared for the learning activities they will be engaging in the following day. Thank you for your help and support at home.

REPEAT *Erin’s Law*

An Illinois law known as Erin’s Law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness/prevention curriculum for Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Kildeer Countryside CCSD 96 researched and observed best practices and programs for delivering this instruction, selecting Be Seen & Heard ©. For more information about this presentation please go to www.victorpacini.com/peace-of-mind-2

This developmentally appropriate and interactive program focuses on teaching children skills to keep them safe from danger or abuse. Concepts discussed will include distinguishing safe from unsafe touches, safety rules at home and school, saying NO, safe/unsafe secrets, and telling a trusted adult, as well as reinforcing that an adult’s touching him or her is not the child’s fault.

Opt-Out Procedures

The presentation to Ivy Hall students will be during the school day on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023. If you prefer that your child does not attend this prevention education session, please submit your written request or your questions to [email protected]
