October 7th, 2022

Thank you to all the parents and guardians for attending Family Educator Conferences over the past two days. It was great to “see” everyone who attended virtually and to literally see each family that attended in person. Teachers are reporting to me that conferences were successful and collaborative which speaks to the excellent home to school partnerships that we have at Ivy Hall School.

As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, October 10th. Please see upcoming dates to remember below. Please enjoy the three-day weekend as the seasons begin to change. Apple picking is on the Senatore family agenda, I couldn’t think of a more appropriate activity for fall!

Have a terrific weekend,

Mike Senatore

Picture Retake Day is 10/11/22! If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required.

If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to the school four weeks after Retake Day. Please note, if your child is photographed on the original and Retake Picture Days, the Retake picture will replace the original picture in certain products, like the yearbook.

Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. If you have not preordered, please use the Retake Order Code 70141MF to place your order at https://inter-state.com/Order

NEW *PTO Blog*

Our PTO maintains a weekly blog that has useful information for opportunities to get involved in the Ivy Hall School community. Their latest blog post can be found here, below are this week’s highlights.

  • Wildcat Wizardry
  • Yearbook Cover Contest
  • Halloween Costume Donation Drive

REPEAT *Halloween Costumes*

Our Halloween festivities will be here before we know it.  We look forward to students dressing in their Halloween costumes for our Halloween Parade and classroom parties on Monday Oct. 31st.  Please help us with the following costume guidelines.  Students will change into their costumes after their lunch period at school.  Please ensure that your child can get the costume on with minimal help.

Costumes must be appropriate for school.  If costumes are not school appropriate the student will be asked to remove their costume.

Please no masks, blood, super scary stuff, general ickiness, or weapons

Please no cigars or cigarette items

Please no bare tummies

Please keep hair coloring and make-up simple

REPEAT *Cooler Weather is Upon Us*

The leaves are providing us a beautiful backdrop during recess.  Please make sure that your child has the appropriate clothes as the temperature drops.  Dressing in layers is always a good idea.  Please label your child’s items so that if they find their way to the Lost and Found, the item can be returned to your child.

REPEAT *Letters to Veterans*

With Veteran’s Day just around the corner, we are inviting D96 students to write thank you notes or letters to veterans.  These letters will be included in individualized care packages that will be given to veterans who attend an upcoming recognition event in Lake County.  If your student is interested, please have them return their letter or thank you note to the front office no later than October 13th to ensure we are able to mail them in enough time to be included in the Lake County project.
