Thought Exchange Partnership - Parent Opportunity (New)

Now seeking parents to fill open positions on our district Thought Exchange Partnership.  If you are looking for a way to get involved, be a voice for Ivy Hall Elementary School, and learn about the wonderful things happening in District 96, please consider joining. If you are interested in this opportunity, email me ([email protected]) to express interest by September 16, 2019, Please know this will be a lottery for open spots. I will contact everyone to let you know if you have been selected! The first meeting is scheduled for September 26, 2019, in the evening.

Purpose:

  • To share with parents information regarding district goals and initiatives, curricular and instructional innovations, programs and other informational topics.  (i.e. District Goals, MAP & PARCC Results)
  • To review school board or school code required topics (i.e. Parent/Student Handbook, Discipline Policy, Grants, Calendar)
  • To understand parent perceptions and solicit feedback on school district topics to assist the district in communication and planning.

Fire Drill (New)

Students participated in a fire drill on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. Our fire drill was supervised by our school resource office, Ashley Krozel. The drill went well. Our next fire drill will be supervised by the Buffalo Grove Fire Department.

Parent Pick Up - CARS ONLY (NEW)

Families that are collecting students at the CARLINE/Parent pick up… please STOP doing this. The south lot is for CARS ONLY. You can do this on the northside of the building. The WALKER exit is the northside of the building.

Ivy Hall Fall Fun Run 2019 (Repeat)

The Ivy Hall Fun Run will take place on Friday, September 13, at 9:30 a.m. The purpose of the Ivy Hall Fun Run is to promote fun and fitness. We will have our pre-run activities outside in the parent pick up parking lot behind the school. Parents are invited to run along with their children or to watch and cheer the students on. Parents who want to participate or watch are required to sign in and receive a visitor badge. There will be a sign-in table in the parent pick up parking lot. The table will be located near the parent pick up entrance door. Please do not enter the building. All visitors are required to sign in and wear their visitor's badge at all times.

The fun run will take place on school grounds. Students will have 25 minutes to run and/or walk. The course is approximately one half mile long. Students try to complete as many laps as they can. At the end of 25 minutes, they will meet back in the parking lot and cool down with a bottle of water.

Students will practice the course during physical education class.

ORDER OF EVENTS

  • 9:30 a.m. Students will line up in the parent pick up parking lot and start warm-up activities.
  • 9:40 a.m. Start the run. We will dismiss by class, starting with 5th grade.
  • 10:05 a.m. The fun run is finished and students meet their teacher in the parent pick up parking lot. Students will get their water and cool down.
  • 10:15a.m. Students go back to their classrooms.
