Week of May 28, 2018

Dear Parents and Students,

I’m taken back by how fast that school year absolutely flew by! Easily the fastest school year that I have ever been a part of. I’m excited to write this final Principal Message today, because it means we get to do it all over again next year! I will miss you fifth grade!

Fifth graders, I wish you continued success at Twin Groves.  Remember, you will always be a Wildcat! As you move on in your educational career please look back at the fun times you had here learning and growing at Ivy Hall.

Everyday, I’m humbled by the growth within by students. I want to thank every staff member for their support of students this year. Parents, I thank you, too, for your continued support and trust in Ivy Hall, as well as your continued support of your children as they learn and grow.

Have a great summer vacation! Take time with family and friends. My next principal’s message will come to you in early August.

Respectfully,

Bob Hanrahan

Registration for the 2018-2019 School Year (Repeat)

Please help us secure our section numbers (number of classrooms) for all grade levels by registering now. The faster parents register, the earlier new positions can be hired. We sincerely appreciate your help to secure new positions as early as possible. Section numbers are completely based upon enrollment. We cannot depend on your child being here unless he/she has been registered.

As new families move into your neighborhoods, please remind them to register as soon as possible for school. Ivy Hall School is open through June 30th and reopens August 1st. The District Office is open all summer, including July, and registration can be done through the District Office for new families. Thank you for helping us enroll all of our students as promptly as possible.

Summer Reading for Student Growth (Repeat)

Having students continue to read during the summer when school is not in session is extremely important to their academic growth and to prevent them from losing academic progress. Because our goal is to have our students continue to read for pleasure, we offer grade-level-specific book suggestion lists of various genres to appeal to a variety of interests. Also, grade levels have assigned specific activities as well as a student interest inventory to complete and return at the beginning of the school year. Please CLICK HERE to find your student's parent letter (including required grade-level activity), book suggestions, and reader interest inventory, listed by 2018-2019 grade level.

Questions? Please contact the school office.

iPad Policy Change (Repeat)

The end of the year is a busy time for everyone, but it's always good to get a head start and thinking next year. The policy concerning iPad damage will be different next year. This change is reflected in the flyer HERE and in greater detail in the 2018-19 Student Handbook. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
