• ARE YOU THE PARENT OF A 2020–21 FIFTH GRADER OR KINDERGARTNER?
Parents of ALL currently enrolled kindergartners and 5th graders whose students will attend a KCSD96 school in the 2021–22 school year must prove their residency again with three specific documents.

Please note that the requirement to re-prove residency for a current kindergartner and 5th grader applies–even for families who have other students currently attending KCSD96 schools.

Parents may re-prove their residency via email.

• DO YOU LIVE WITH A CURRENT FIFTH GRADER?
Transition to Middle School is a program (virtual) for parents of current fifth graders, packed with info and insights about what to expect in the middle school year ahead.

Middle School Principals Jessica Barnes (Twin Groves) and Greg Grana (Woodlawn) will discuss academics, extracurricular opportunities, and changes that the middle school years bring. Also, current 6th-grade student panelists will share their perspectives.

• MAP TESTING FOR IN-PERSON AND REMOTE STUDENTS
MAP testing for KCSD96 in-person and remote students KDG–Grade 8 will occur during the week of May 3. Please see your Principal’s Message for specific dates and details.

• DENTAL FORM REQUIREMENT REMINDER
Proof of a dental exam is due to school nurses by May 15 for current kindergartners, second graders, and sixth graders. Proof of a dental exam by a licensed dentist given between Nov. 15, 2019, and May 15, 2021, will meet the requirement. See DENTAL FORM

• PLEASE DON’T REFUTE THAT CREDIT CARD CHARGE...
After successfully submitting your student’s 2021–22 registration, you will receive an itemized receipt by email promptly that lists the total charge, including required fees and optional donations, if any, that you choose to make. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you select the credit card payment option when paying 2021–22 registration fees, look for either of the following identifying description labels on your credit card statement: POWERSCHOOL MD 512375–4514 or PB POWERSCHOOL. District 96 registration charges are NOT described with the District or school name.

Also, be advised that some banks code this transaction as a donation.

• STUFF THE SQUAD FOOD PANTRY DRIVE
The Buffalo Grove Police Department invites KCSD96 families to donate food and essentials to support food pantries serving our local residents.  Collection via centrally located boxes in schools will be underway at all KCSD96 schools in the weeks ahead. The last day to donate to Stuff the Squad is May 5. SEE REQUESTED ITEMS

The Lake County Health Department will provide our community with information and announcements about COVID-19 vaccinations. The implementation of Illinois’s vaccination plan has begun.
