COLD WEATHER iPAD CAUTION
As winter temps dip low, our KCSD96 Tech Staff ask that you remind your student(s) that iPads should not be left in cars or in outside unheated areas, such as a garage.

Apple’s SUPPORT PAGE advises that extremely low or high temperatures can cause devices to malfunction. Using an iOS device in very cold conditions can temporarily shorten battery life or cause the device to turn off.

PARENTING IN PLACE MASTERCLASS SERIES
School District 96 is providing an opportunity for District 96 parents to register for an 8-week free virtual masterclass series presented by parenting experts, therapists, authors, and educators. Because the masterclasses will be presented in real time, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and communicate with each other through chat. They also will receive content from the speakers and access to a closed moderated Facebook group to keep the conversation going.

REGISTER HERE | SEE MORE INFO about the masterclass topics and presenters and the process to register. Please direct questions to Community Parent Liaison Lubna Andrabi.

ONGOING REMINDERS FOR PARENTS OF IN-PERSON LEARNERS:

REMINDER FOR PARENTS OF REMOTE LEARNERS
• Parents do not need to preorder free meals for their remote learners. Beginning the week of Feb. 8, meal supplies may be picked up only on Wednesdays and will include supplies for five meals. Pick up at Twin Groves or Woodlawn Middle School, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

KCSD96 TEXT MESSAGE OPT-IN PROCESS  Have you texted YES?
District 96 uses the School Messenger system to communicate with our parent community by email and–in some instances–also by text message and/or phone call.

If you would like to receive text messages from School District 96 when the subject and nature of the communication warrant our sending them (to advise you of a late-returning bus or a “Snow Day” switch to a Remote Learning Plan, for example), it’s necessary for you first to have sent a text message of Y or YES to this District 96 short code number: 67587.

Or, if you prefer, use your mobile phone to scan the QR code in this School Messenger FLYER (English & Spanish) and send your Y or YES reply.

To opt out of our text messages, simply reply STOP to any text message District 96 sends you.

Please note: Text notifications will always be used in conjunction with email or voice and email communications. Texting will not be used as the sole source of communication.

Please be advised that standard message and data rates for text messaging may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

COMING IN MARCH:
• Dual Language Parent Night for 21–22 Kindergarten Parents
