Country Meadows Principal's Message - December 9, 2022

Country Meadows Principal's Message - December 9, 2022

Country Meadows had another great week of learning here!  Students participated in MAP testing early this week as well as our fluency screenings.  Our teachers will use this data to celebrate student progress and target learning areas in the coming weeks.

Our fifth graders are putting the finishing touches on their 3D printed cities.  During Exploration Lab, classes brainstormed all the important buildings needed in a city.  Each student designed and 3D printed a building for their city.  Their amazing cities are on display for all to see!

To make a "December to Remember" students and staff are participating in theme days leading up to winter break.

  • Monday 12/12 - Tie Dye Day, Tuesday 12/13 - Motivational Saying Day, Wednesday 12/14 - Positive Message Day, Thursday 12/15 - Flannel or Hoodie Day, Friday 12/16 - Blue, White, & Silver Day
  • Monday 12/19 - Winter Sweater Day, Tuesday 12/20 - Wear White with Snow Gear Day, Wednesday 12/21 - Fun Socks Day, Thursday 12/22 - Pajama Day

As a reminder, we appreciate everyone calling or emailing the office if your child(ren) are not in attendance.  If you know if advance there will be an absence, please email the classroom teacher and Mrs. Singh ([email protected]).

Kindly,

Michelle Garlick

Repeating * Science Fair*

Announcing the 2023 Country Meadows Science Fair!  The fair will be held on Wednesday, January 25 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm.  Thanks to the generous support of the PTO, the Science Fair Committee is thrilled to announce that we will be expanding our fair to include FIRST through FIFTH graders this year!  Please use the QR code to find more information, and to register your child(ren).  Registration is free, and includes a tri-fold poster board, certificate and other give-aways.  The deadline for registration is Thursday, December 22.

Repeating *Remind from Nurse White*

As we head into winter, we have seen more students bringing cough drops and inhalers to school.  Please do not send your child with cough drops or other medicine unless you have communicated with Nurse White and completed the medical authorization form.  Thank you!

Repeating *RECESS DURING THE WINTER*

Please ensure your child has a coat and pants to wear at recess on our cold days!

For student to play in the snow, they must have snow pants, boots, gloves and jacket.  This applies to both the field and the playground area. This ensures that their clothes, hands and feet are dry for lunch and the remainder of the afternoon.  Students who do not have snow pants and boots can still play on the blacktop area.
