Country Meadows Principal's Message - December 2, 2022

Country Meadows Principal's Message - December 2, 2022

The Country Meadows staff and I are heartbroken over the tragedy that occurred in our community.  We recognize the profound impact this has on so many in our community.  As Superintendent Sheridan shared, District 96 does have counseling services available to support students.

On Thursday, our students and staff gathered together to celebrate their hard work in November and set a new goal for December.  The new goal focuses on using kind words and calm body.

Kindly,

Michelle Garlick

*Upcoming Dates*

  • Friday, December 23rd - No School, 1st Day of Winter Break

NEW * Science Fair*

Announcing the 2023 Country Meadows Science Fair!  The fair will be held on Wednesday, January 25 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm.  Thanks to the generous support of the PTO, the Science Fair Committee is thrilled to announce that we will be expanding our fair to include FIRST through FIFTH graders this year!  Please use the QR code to find more information, and to register your child(ren).  Registration is free, and includes a tri-fold poster board, certificate and other give-aways.  The deadline for registration is Thursday, December 22.

NEW *Remind from Nurse White*

As we head into winter, we have seen more students bringing cough drops and inhalers to school.  Please do not send your child with cough drops or other medicine unless you have communicated with Nurse White and completed the medical authorization form.  Thank you!

Updated *RECESS DURING THE WINTER*

Please ensure your child has a coat and pants to wear at recess on our cold days!

For student to play in the snow, they must have snow pants, boots, gloves and jacket.  This applies to both the field and the playground area. This ensures that their clothes, hands and feet are dry for lunch and the remainder of the afternoon.  Students who do not have snow pants and boots can still play on the blacktop area.

Repeating *MAP TESTING*

The MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessment will be administered in all District 96 schools in grades K-8 on Monday 12/5 and Tuesday 12/6.  If students are absent for testing, and the make up window is still open, students will be able to make up the test.  If the window is closed they will not be able to make up the test.
