Country Meadows Principal's Message - October 7, 2022

Country Meadows Principal's Message - October 7, 2022

Happy Friday!  I hope our Country Meadows families are enjoying this long fall weekend!  During our quick week at school, Mrs. Shaver and I were able to celebrate with our winning PAWS classes.  We host a picnic lunch outside on Monday.  Students were excited to share about how they were contributing to our Country Meadows community and what they are looking forward to in October.

Students enjoying the outdoors

Thank you to our families that joined us for conferences Thursday and Friday.  Your partnership with the school is invaluable to the success of your child(ren).  I look forward to seeing our students back at school on Tuesday!

Kindly,

Michelle Garlick

NEW *Student "No School" Dates Next Week*

  • Monday, 10/10 - No School

NEW *Afterschool Clubs*

Country Meadows would like to know who is interested in attending our after school clubs offered by staff members.  Clubs will begin at 3:05pm and end at 3:50pm with parent pick-up.  There is no bus transportation available at 3:50pm.

Please submit your interest here and a club sponsor will be in contact if you are confirmed or on a waitlist.  This form will close once sessions are at maximum capacity to allow sponsors to communicate back to families.

Repeating *Halloween Costumes*

Our Halloween festivities will be here before we know it.  We look forward to students dressing in their Halloween costumes for our Halloween Parade and classroom parties on Monday Oct. 31st.  Please help us with the following costume guidelines.  Students will change into their costumes prior the the Halloween Parade.  Please ensure that your child can get the costume on with no or minimal help.

Costumes must be appropriate for school.  If costumes are not school appropriate the student will be asked to remove their costume.

  • Please no masks, blood, super scary stuff, general ickiness, or weapons
  • Please no cigars or cigarette items
  • Please no bare tummies
  • Please keep hair coloring and make-up simple (and completed prior to sending your child to school)

Repeating *Cooler Weather is Upon Us*

The leaves are providing us a beautiful backdrop during recess.  Please make sure that your child has the appropriate clothes as the temperature drops.  Dressing in layers is always a good idea.  Please label your child’s items so that if they find their way to the Lost and Found, the item can be returned to your child.

Repeating *Law Enforcement Safety Drill*

On October 14th, Country Meadows will be conducting a Law Enforcement Safety Drill. Students will be evacuating the building during the drill. If the weather does not cooperate, we will reschedule the drill and communicate the rescheduled drill date.

In compliance with the Safety Drill Act, parents have the right to exempt their child from the Law Enforcement Drill.  If you do not wish your child to participate in the Law Enforcement Safety Drill, please contact Michelle Garlick at [email protected].  The administration will arrange for an alternative review of safety procedures with your child.

If we do not hear from you, we will assume your child has permission to participate in the drill.
