Dear Country Meadows Families,
Although we only had four days, we still had a great week of learning here at Country Meadows! Below are some pictures of the great work that is going on in Music. Students are using “Specdrums” which are app-enabled rings that turn colors into music with a simple tap. 5th grade students composed their own pieces connected to 5th grade learning targets. A big thank you to Mrs. Sarah Murray, our music teacher, who goes above and beyond with our Music instruction! Ask your child what they are learning about in Music!

There will be no school from Wednesday 10/9 through Monday 10/14. Therefore the next Principal’s Message will be released on October 18th.

NEW *A WORD ABOUT IAR ASSESSMENT RESULTS*
Today your student is bringing home his or her Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) data from the IAR assessment administered in April 2019. Please check your student’s backpack for these assessment results.
IAR is the assessment and accountability measure used for students enrolled in Illinois public schools. Students in Grades 3–8 take this assessment in the academic areas of English language arts and mathematics.
IAR results show whether your student met grade-level expectations and is on track for the next grade level. Please note that IAR is only one measure of how your student is performing academically.

REPEATING *UPDATED APPROVED SNACK LIST*
The District has revised the APPROVED SNACK LIST. This list includes foods that are approved for students' Daily Snacks.
It also includes foods approved specifically for Special Events such as birthday treats for a class or for PTO class parties.

¡Aunque solo tuvimos cuatro días, aún tuvimos una maravillosa semana de aprendizaje aquí en Country Meadows! Abajo verá unas fotos del buen trabajo que sucede en la clase de Música. Los estudiantes están usando “Specdrums” los cuales son anillos de aplicaciones que se activan y cambian de color a música simplemente con tocarlo. Los estudiantes de 5º grado compusieron sus propias piezas musicales que se relacionan a las metas de aprendizaje de 5º grado. ¡Pregúntele a su hijo de lo que está aprendiendo en Música!

*NUEVO* ALGO SOBRE LOS RESULTADOS DE LA EVALUACIÓN IAR:
Hoy su estudiante llevará a casa la información sobre la Evaluación de Preparación de Illinois (IAR por sus siglas en Inglés) que se administró en abril 2019. Por favor revise la mochila de su estudiante para ver los resultados de esta evaluación.
IAR es una medida de evaluación y responsabilidad que se usa para los estudiantes que están inscritos en las escuelas públicas de Illinois. Los estudiantes que cursan los grados 3–8 toman esta prueba en las áreas académicas de lenguaje y literatura de Inglés y matemáticas.
Los resultados IAR muestran si su estudiante ha logrado las expectativas de nivel de grado y si va por buen camino hacia el próximo nivel de grado. Tome en cuenta que IAR es solo una medida de cómo su estudiante se está desempeñando académicamente.

REITERACIÓN *ACTUALIZACIÓN DE PTO*
¡Se aproxima mucha diversión! Marca en tu calendario el 25 de octubre ya que será el divertidísimo y beneficioso Carnaval de Recaudación de Fondos! El PTO organiza más que recaudaciones de fondos, así que para ver cómo realizamos el Anuario o las asambleas de Artes Culturales para nuestros niños, únase a la llamada de conferencia del 25 de septiembre. REITERACIÓN *LISTA ACTUALIZADA DE MERIENDAS APROBADAS*
El Distrito ha revisado la LISTA DE MERIENDAS APROBADAS. Esta lista incluye alimentos que son aprobados para la Merienda Diaria de los estudiantes.
Esto también incluye alimentos que son específicamente para Eventos Especiales tales como cumpleaños o para fiestas de los salones del PTO.
