Country Meadows Principal's Message - August 2nd

Country Meadows Principal's Message - August 2nd

Dear Country Meadows Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  I hope everyone enjoyed the summer months and was able to find time for relaxation and fun in the sun!  The Country Meadows staff is eagerly awaiting the arrival of our students, and we can't wait for the 2019-2020 school year to begin!

This summer, my husband, Conrad, and I finally welcomed Baby Bird to the world!  Our daughter, Maisie James Bird, was born on July 13th (her due date!) weighing 7lbs 3oz and measuring 20.5in long!  We are more in love than we ever imagined possible, and we have been spending the last three weeks adjusting to our new life as a family of three.  Maisie keeps us on our toes, but we wouldn't give up the sleepless nights or dirty diapers for anything in the world!

While I am so sad to be missing the beginning of the school year, I feel incredibly lucky to spend some time at home adjusting to my new life as a mom!  Our administrative team collaborated to come up with a coverage plan that will be in full effect while I am on maternity leave this fall!

Our new Assistant Principal, Mike Senatore, and Woodlawn Assistant Principal, Michelle Garlick, will be ensuring everything at Country Meadows runs smoothly in my absence.  Should you need anything at all, I am including their contact information below.  You may also reach out to our Administrative Assistant, Cheryl Kelly, and she will direct your questions/concerns to the correct District 96 administrator.

NEW *An Invitation to New Families to our District 96 Community*

Has your family recently moved to District 96?

On Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m., parents of registered students in Kindergarten–Grade 8 are invited to Twin Groves Middle School, 2600 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove, for a program to welcome you to our community and introduce you to District 96. Learn about and understand our home-school connection, classroom dynamics, patterns of communication to expect from our teachers and administrators, and more. Ask questions and help us understand how we can best support you in acclimating to the culture of a new school district, neighborhood, and community. While all interested parents are welcome, please note that the focus of this evening is not specifically curricular which will be shared with all District 96 parents on their students’ designated grade-level Curriculum Nights.  Rather, this is an informational opportunity for parents who wish to learn about logistics, procedures, and the first few weeks of school.

Questions? Need an interpreter? Please contact Director of Language and Early Literacy, Katie Sheridan at [email protected]
