Country Meadows Principal's Message - Sept. 28th

Country Meadows Families,

I think it is safe to say that we ended this week on an extremely high note!  Not only was it activity choice day in PE, but all of our staff and students attended our first whole school assembly this afternoon!  We reviewed what it means to be respectful, responsible, and create a peaceful community!  We also sang our CM school song, recited our CM PRO pledge, and debuted our very first all school "This is Me" performance (see below for a video of the amazing performance).    I feel like we all left the assembly with a universal sense of pride of who we are as a school community and a deep understanding of how to continue to make Country Meadows the best place to be for all students.

NEW * This is Us - We are Country Meadows*

As you may have read in my previous Principal's Message, I am challenging myself to be more transparent with the Country Meadow's community in an effort to showcase the amazing things I have the privilege of encountering each and every day.  In my future Principal's Messages, you will see various video clips of various aspects of life at Country Meadows in a raw, honest, and exciting way!

Community Input: In an effort to create a two-way communication model, please let me know if there is a time of day, specific student experience, or potential topic you would like to know more about or see in showcased in the "This is Us - We are Country Meadows" section of my Principal's Message!  Simply fill out this Google Form to provide input!

This week I would love to showcase our students serenading us with the song, "This is Me!"at our school assembly today!  This moment was, hands down, one of my favorite principal memories so far!  The students were so excited to sing, and the staff could not get enough of it.  Watch this video....you won't be sorry!

NEW *Student Fundraising/Order Placement*

It has come to my attention that quite a few teachers are being approached by students in an effort for them to fundraise/sell popcorn or other goodies!  I want to provide some background in the event that your child is told by his/her classroom/specials teacher that they are unable to purchase whatever it may be they are selling.  Given that we have so many students participating in various organizations, it is rare that classroom teachers are able to purchase or place an order with each child.  When this is the case, staff feel required to tell students that, in an effort to be fair to everyone, they are not going to place an order.  Thank you for your understanding of this!

NEW *PTO Update*

We had another wonderful week at Country Meadows.  The Box Top contest is going on this week, classes will have a contest with a grand prize for most box tops.  Participating Box Tops can be found @ Box Top Collection.  Save the date for the upcoming COUNTRY MEADOWS FALL CARNIVAL NIGHT, Friday, October 12th from 6-8pm, tickets are on sale now on Membership Toolkit!  Like us on Facebook  and log into Membership Toolkit to keep up with all the activities.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  It's crazy to think that September is already over, and we are moving onto the October fall days!  We are excited for another fun month with students!

Warmly,

Meghan Bird - Principal

NUEVO * Somos Nosotros - Somos Country Meadows*

Sinceramente,

Meghan Bird - Directora
