Willow Grove Bears Spring Break Staycation Kit
The Willow Grove PTO is wishing everyone in our community a fun and safe Spring Break!
This Staycation Kit is provided to you as a gift from our Willow Grove PTO to our learning community, with fun "adventures" that you can explore with your family any day throughout Spring Break (Mar. 22–26).
Our Staycation Kit includes different Craft Kits to go along with virtual learning adventures. The Craft Kits were either sent home with your children or picked up by you from school. Some of these crafts/activities might require support from parents. You also will need a computer or tablet to access the Internet and YouTube, as well as some basic craft supplies not included in the kit (i.e., glue stick and paint and/or markers).
Virtual Learning Adventures
Check out the virtual learning adventures our Willow Grove PTO has curated for your family:
• Sue the T. Rex, presented by the Field Museum – See VIDEO
Included craft: Build your own mini 3-D dinosaur
Students can visit Sue in this online presentation and brush up on little-known facts about the most complete Tyrannosaurus rex. Field Staff will guide you from Sue's life in the Cretaceous period to the latest scientific research. Using a 3-D virtual model scanned straight from Sue's fossilized bones, staff will point out key features that give hints about Sue's past. The presentation is divided into 5 sections and parents can skip or go ahead at any time.
