Willow Grove Principal's Message ~ November 1, 2024

Dear Families,

I hope you had a fun-filled Halloween! We had so much fun at our parade and party. Thank you to our families and PTO who helped organize all the activities. There were smiles and laughter throughout our exciting day.

Parents, you outdid yourselves with costumes! Your kids were incredible! Speaking of "incredible," I saw Incredibles characters, community helpers, superheroes, princesses, witches, and to my utter joy and excitement, even a Buddy the Bear! Of course, our staff got in on the fun, as well!

New: *Illinois School Report Card*

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released the annual Illinois Report Card on Oct. 30 at www.illinoisreportcard.com. The Report Card shows the incredible achievements of our schools when it comes to a wide range of educational goals.

Our academic successes reflect a strong tradition of excellence at Kildeer Countryside School District 96. This includes maintaining a strong focus on standards-based instruction and core instruction, continuous improvement targeting content and standards, language acquisition, and more. These areas align to our Board Approved Goals for the 24-25 school year, as outlined here.

NEW *Library Help Volunteer Opportunity*

The Willow Grove Library is looking for parent volunteers to help re-shelve library books.  Dates and times are flexible- please email Melody Martinez to sign-up at [email protected]. Thank you!

Window to the World

REPEAT: Willow Grove Window to the World - Calling All Families!

On the evening of December 11th at 6pm, we’ll be having a fun family event, showcasing the many cultures and countries represented in our school community. We are excited to learn from and celebrate each other! We cannot do this without your support, and are looking for parents who would like to share artifacts and traditions from around the country and globe with our students and families.  Parents who are interested can share about holidays, traditions, clothing, games/toys, geographical locations and landmarks, music, art, food, etc.  Children or families may do a short performance (dance, music, fashion shows, etc.). Things families choose to showcase are not limited to places outside of our own country. Families can share about areas right here in the USA and what makes their family unique to help us all learn about one another. We are so excited for this event! We hope that you’ll consider sharing with our school community. We would all love to learn from you! If you would be interested in participating, please click here to complete this survey. THANK YOU!

Note: You can partner up with others! You don’t have to do your booth alone. We will organize groups based on our volunteers and topics and individuals can feel free to work together, if you choose!

Click here to see a video from a previous cultural fair! This will give you a great idea what the event is all about!

Mark your calendars for the evening of December 11th. This will be fun for the whole family!
