Willow Grove Principal's Message ~ May 31, 2024

picking up their children

Dear families,

Thank you so much for this wonderful school year. It has been our honor to work with your children this year. We're so proud of their growth and enjoyed every step of the way. We will miss our kindergarten students so much and know they will continue to grow in leaps and bounds as they move into first grade. We look forward to seeing our early childhood students and families again next year.

I want to thank our teachers and staff for an incredible school year. Together, they provide our students with a beginning to their school experiences that ignite a love of learning and school. Ms. Payne and I couldn't be more grateful to work with such an incredible team.

Thank you, families, for your partnership this year. Your contributions to learning are immeasurable and we've loved having you and your children as part of our school family!

Have a fun and safe summer!

Best,

Jenny Smith, Principal

New *Summer Reading*

As summer approaches, we encourage you to help your children dive into the joy of reading. Research consistently shows that children who read at least four books over the summer are better prepared for the upcoming school year and avoid the "summer slide"—a decline in reading skills that can occur during the break. Whether your child is an eager reader or a reluctant one, summer offers a unique opportunity to explore new worlds through books and foster a lifelong love of reading.

Our curated summer reading lists include a variety of genres from generational classics to new releases in dystopian, science fiction, historical fiction, and nonfiction, ensuring there's something for every reader.

Summer reading lists for all Early Childhood- 5th grade students have been updated on our website. Click HERE for the link to the website directly.

Additionally, all current 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students are required to complete a summer reading assignment for Middle School. Click HERE for this assignment.

Happy Reading!
