Dear Families,
Thank you to all of our families who contributed to our Cultural Fair! It was an evening to remember and certainly one that brought so many of us together to share in one another’s company. We couldn’t have done it without all of our families who put their hearts into sharing their special family traditions with us. On top of that, we had so many families come out to experience the fun. In addition, we had pajama day today and celebrated students who received Warm Fuzzies! All around it was a great week!

NEW *Warm & Wooly Day! Friday, January 12*
Our students in Early Childhood and Kindergarten start back at Willow Grove with a math unit that incorporates a theme of sweaters, mittens, winter hats, etc. We thought it would be fun to have a day to make connections with what the whole school is wearing for a day. Friday, January 12, is "Warm & Wooly Day!" If you would like your child to participate, dress them in something warm and wooly! A sweater, sweater vest, winter hat, or just adding a scarf is perfect! If you want your child to participate specifically for their grade level (anything warm and wooly will make the connection), this is how it's broken down:

REPEAT *Newcomer Coffee and Conversation*
District 96 hosts a Newcomer Coffee & Conversation for parents and guardians of newly registered students, to give them an opportunity to ask questions and share information about their transition.
This year’s Coffee starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, at Ivy Hall Elementary School (Mat Room), 1072 Ivy Hall Lane, Buffalo Grove.
It is an informal opportunity for these new parents and guardians to ask questions and share their thoughts ~ with other parents and staff ~ about their experiences in the district. These parents might be experiencing the District’s social customs and teaching practices for the first time, just as their students have, and can glean from the experiences of others.
New parents/guardians who missed the New Family Tours in August are encouraged to attend this conversation. Those who did attend the tours are welcome to join this conversation to share how they are adjusting to the District 96 culture.
Coffee and other refreshments will be served.

REPEAT *Winter Parties*
Our PTO winter parties are coming up on December 21st. They are scheduled for 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM for all kindergarten classes and all AM sections of our blended, ECSE, and structured classes. Parties will be held from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM for all PM sections of blended preschool. Please note that per district policy, only volunteers on the volunteer list will be permitted in the building (sorry no siblings, friends, or relatives). Also, note that all parties in the district are snack-free, so no food or treats may be brought in or sent home with students in goody bags.
