This week students completed NWEA MAP Reading and Math testing with our kindergarten students. Students who were absent will have an opportunity to complete it next week. Thank you for ensuring your child was well-rested for the testing session.
Next week, we have Monday, September 4th off in honor of Labor Day. I hope you enjoy the time off with your family!

Repeat: Erin’s Law
An Illinois law known as Erin’s Law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness/prevention curriculum for Kindergarten through Grade 12.

This developmentally appropriate and interactive program focuses on teaching children skills to keep them safe from danger or abuse. Concepts discussed will include distinguishing safe from unsafe touches, safety rules at home and school, saying NO, safe/unsafe secrets, and telling a trusted adult, as well as reinforcing that an adult’s touching him or her is not the child’s fault.
Opt-Out Procedures
The presentation to Willow Grove students will be during the school day on Monday, September 11th. If you prefer that your child does not attend this prevention education session, please submit your written request or your questions to [email protected].
Repeat: Bus Timing Reminder
Please make sure you are at bus stops waiting 10 minutes prior to the stop time you were provided. The times provided are estimates and it helps the efficiency of our routes when children/families are ready at the stop. This includes for getting your child on or off the bus. Thank you!
Repeat: Picture Day Information
Willow Grove’s picture day is Friday, September 8th. We have a retake day on Friday, October 13th, for any student who misses photos or whose parents choose a retake. A paper copy is coming home with details, and the following is information, as well. Watch your child's backpack for the paper copy.
