Thursday, September 26, is Picture Day for all Willow Grove students. We anticipate Information packets to go home in backpack mail around the end of next week (about Sept 6). October 28 is Picture Retake Day.
Thought Exchange Partnership - Parent Opportunity
Now seeking parents to fill open positions on our district Thought Exchange Partnership. If you are looking for a way to get involved, be a voice for Willow Grove, and learn about the wonderful things happening in District 96, please consider joining. If you are interested in this opportunity, email me ([email protected]) to express interest by September 16, 2019 Please know this will be a lottery for open spots. I will contact everyone to let you know if you have been selected!
Purpose:
*To share with parents information regarding district goals and initiatives, curricular and instructional innovations, programs and other informational topics. (i.e. District Goals, MAP & PARCC Results)
*To review school board or school code required topics (i.e. Parent/Student Handbook, Discipline Policy, Grants, Calendar)
*To understand parent perceptions and solicit feedback on school district topics to assist the district in communication and planning.
Donations for Makerspace
Help us create a Makerspace at Willow Grove. Please donate any of the following items:
-ribbon, rope
-rubberbands
-tape (duct, washi etc.)
-fabric, thread, buttons
-yarn
-foam
-straws
-paper (cardboard, tissue paper, origami paper)

-empty paper rolls (paper towel, toilet paper tubes)

Looking for Volunteers
PE Helpers
Calling all parents who want to be gym helpers!! Beginning in September, you will be allowed to volunteer to help out in your child’s PE class once a month! Just e-mail Mrs. O’Gara at [email protected] and let her know you’re interested and what date you’d like to come. Kindergarten children have PE every day and 2-days per week for early childhood, as listed below. She’ll confirm the date if it’s available and if not, she’ll give you other choices. Once you come, you can then sign up for your next date! You may also call her at (847)541-3660 ext. 5854.

Calling all parents! We love putting many books in the hands of kids to encourage a love of reading. El jueves 26 de septiembre, es el Día Para Tomar Fotos para todos los estudiantes de Willow Grove. Enviaremos los paquetes de información a la casa la próxima semana (cerca del 6 de septiembre). En caso de que esté ausente ese día, podrá tomar la foto el 28 de octubre.
Donaciones para Makerspace
Ayúdenos en crear un Makerspace en Willow Grove. Por favor done cualquiera de los siguientes útiles:

Estamos en busca de padres para que se unan a la Colaboración de Intercambio de Ideas de nuestro distrito. ¡¡Llamando a todos los padres que puedan ayudar en la clase de gym!! ¡Empezando en septiembre, usted podrá ser voluntario y ayudar en la clase de Educación Física de su hijo una vez al mes! Solo envíe un correo electrónico a Mrs. O’Gara a [email protected] y déjele saber si usted está interesado y la fecha que le gustaría asistir. Los estudiantes de Kindergarten tienen Educación Física todos los días y 2 días a la semana para los niños de preescolar, tal como lo indica la lista de abajo.
