Willow Grove Principal's Message ~ November 30th

Cultural Fair - Join us this Thursday!
We are excited to host the second annual Willow Grove Cultural Fair for all families on the evening of December 6th, next Thursday, from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.  Siblings are welcome to attend. Families may choose to wear traditional clothing from their country of origin or heritage.  We hope to encourage our students to learn about other cultures, to celebrate what makes us all unique and to recognize cultural traits that we share. We couldn't do this without our parents and staff.  THANK YOU to those who have volunteered!  Activities include:

  • Visit countries from around the globe and children collect stickers on pretend passports
  • Countries visited will share artifacts, traditions, customs, crafts for kids to do, games, etc.
  • Family performances throughout the evening!
  • Sample foods from around the world.  All food sampling will take place in the cafeteria.  Food will be restricted to the cafeteria area so families with allergy concerns can avoid this area if they choose.

We hope to see you there!  This is a wonderful event, thanks to the families and staff who put time and love into such a special evening, as well as the families who attend to enjoy the night!  Thank you so much!

Thank you, PTO & Families!
Our PTO and families have been busy!  Thank you for the beautiful Thanksgiving feast over our teacher conference evenings.  Your efforts filled our hearts and our bellies!  The staff lounge area was beautifully decorated and the meal was exceptionally delicious.  You outdid yourselves!  Thank you!

Our PTO has organized a special assembly featuring a Korean Drumming group next week!  This is a great way to learn about the traditions of various cultures during the day, when our Cultural Fair in the evening will continue the recognition and learning!  If you are a parent of an AM only student, your teacher communicated that you are welcome to bring your child in for the afternoon assembly.  If you have any questions about this, please ask your teacher or give us a call in the office.  Thank you to our PTO for organizing this exciting event and to our families, whose donations and support fund these opportunities.
