Student Progress Reports are Ready For You to Access!
Your student’s progress report will be available for you to access online today after 3 p.m. If you need assistance, please CLICK HERE for instructions to view your student’s progress report, to switch between your children’s progress reports and more. Please keep in mind while viewing your child's report, many targets span trimesters and are designed for mastery at the end of the school year. It is not uncommon to see "developing" as our students are still learning. See additional reporting details in last week's message.
It is always helpful if you view your child's report prior to your parent/teacher conference.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
We are looking forward to seeing you next week to discuss your child's progress. A strong home/school partnership is essential to our students' progress and we value our time with you.
Please remember that you are allotted a 15-minute conference. Teachers have very tight conference schedules and one conference going late makes for a bit of a mess for the rest of their day. Teachers are always happy to connect with you further, outside of the conference time. Please be respectful of the teachers and other parents' time by helping us stay on-time. Thank you so much!

Gym Helpers Wanted
Mrs. O'Gara is looking for volunteers to help out in their child's P.E. class. If you would like to be a gym helper, please contact her @ 847-541-3660 ext. 5854 or e-mail her at [email protected]. You can try it once and if you like it, sign up for the next month!
Social Emotional Learning
A new month brings a new social-emotional theme! This month we focus on coaching or helping others. This can be done in many ways. Of course, we all encourage our children to help others. Starting at a young age, we can give our children responsibilities that contribute to our school and in your household. Need help matching all those socks? How about putting the silverware away? Remind your child how their help is important and give them jobs to do that pitch in! Giving children chores to help around the house builds responsibility and confidence in your child, and all while helping you out!
In school, we also focus on teaching your child to coach others. We regularly use discussion structures with children where they share their understandings with others. In doing so, sometimes their class partner may need support. We don't want students to default to just giving the other child the answer, so we teach them how to "coach" their peers, to guide and support their learning. Instead of saying, "the answer is..." they might say, "remember to look at the pictures for help." Kids reach deeper levels of understanding when they help and support others in their learning.
Thank you to our parent helper who crafted this beautiful bulletin board that showcases our monthly theme, while also celebrating Dr. Seuss!
Thank you, from the bottom of our HEARTS!
Our Heart Awareness drive was a success! Thank you for the pop tabs and spare change! We're excited to contribute to such an important cause.
Thank you, SOOOO MUCH!
Your contributions to PTO activities has already provided for our school! We have a library where teachers check out play resources for our playful learning time. Both Early Childhood and Kindergarten can utilize these resources. Our teachers and staff work with children while in play to build oral language/vocabulary, practice social-emotional learning skills, and make curricular connections within their play. These resources are an incredible contribution and we can't thank the PTO and all of our parents enough! Since this picture was taken, we've received even more! Thank you!
Child Safety
When dropping off or picking your child up from school, please keep them close to you in and around the parking lots and building. Our parking lot and street are very busy at these times with many buses and cars. Please, keep your child close to you. Thank you!
