Tuesday, 1/23, Early Release for Full-day Kindergarten students - Dismissal at 2 PM. Blended students are not in attendance on this date.
January is Whole Body Listening month! As whole body listeners, we listen with our ears, eyes, body, and even our heart! We give our full attention to the speaker. Ask your child what quiet signals are used in their classroom for children to show whole body listening. This concept is strong in every classroom to minimize transitions and maximize learning time! Thank you so much to our parent volunteer for this wintery themed whole body listening bulletin board!
Important Reminders - Residency Check for Current Kindergarten Students & Incoming 2018-19 Kindergarten Pre-Registration
Our district weekly E-News has some important information I encourage you to read if you haven't. Current Kindergarten students will need to prove residency again, no later than Friday, February 23rd. We also have kindergarten pre-registration happening NOW! Wednesday, January 17th, from 5-7:00 p.m. is our second and final pre-registration evening. This is for incoming kindergartners for next school year. Please spread the word and let your neighbors with incoming kindy kids know! Free T-Shirts to incoming 2018-19 kindergarteners who register in January! Thank you so much for your help in this effort! Erin's Law
An Illinois law known as Erin's Law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness/prevention curriculum for Kindergarten through Grade 12.
Kildeer Countryside School District 96 researched and observed best practices and programs for delivering this instruction, selecting Victor Pacini to present Be Seen & Heard ©.
The focus of this developmentally appropriate and interactive program is to teach children skills to keep them safe from danger or abuse. Concepts discussed will include distinguishing safe from unsafe touches, safety rules at home and school, saying NO, safe/unsafe secrets, and telling a trusted adult, as well as reinforcing that an adult's touching him or her is not the child's fault.
Parents who would like to preview the information he will present to KCSD96 elementary students may attend a program with Mr. Pacini at 6 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 23, in the Mat Room at Ivy Hall School, 1072 Ivy Hall Ln., Buffalo Grove.
The presentation to Willow Grove kindergartners will be during the school day on Wed., Jan. 24.

Be Safe
Please do not move your vehicles around buses when the stop arm is out. This is for the safety of our children. This includes when in your car at the bus stop.
