Superintendent's Message for May 4, 2022

“Everyone who remembers his or her own education remembers teachers, not methods and techniques. The teacher is the heart of the educational system.” ~ Sidney Hook

Across the country this week we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week.  We celebrate all of the adults who so significantly impact the lives of students in our community.  This includes classroom teachers, counselors, social workers, psychologists, coaches, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and others who collaboratively work to ensure that each and every student thrives.  These District 96 professionals are some of the very best at what they do in the country!

Teacher Appreciation Week 2022

“Teaching is not just a job.  It is a human service, and it must be thought of as a mission.”

~ Dr. Ralph Tyler

With the above quote in mind, please take a moment this week to reach out and express your appreciation to those dedicated professionals who have made an impact on your student(s) and your family.

Regards,

~ Julie Schmidt, D96 Superintendent of School
