Superintendent's Message

Julie Schmidt photoIt's a privilege to be superintendent of Kildeer Countryside School District 96, where our focus truly is every child, every school, every day.

We are a Kindergarten - Grade 8 district comprising seven schools and approximately 3200 students. Our students continue their education at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois. District 96 is recognized for strong academics, solid financial footing, and highly qualified, dedicated teachers and administrators making professional contributions in their field. We are richly diverse and we warmly WELCOME you to our District 96 school and community.

Our culture of continuous improvement defines our approach to helping each child reach his or her potential. We are committed to improving levels of service and efficiency, to building leadership capacity and engagement, and to anticipating, meeting, and managing change through carefully planned strategies and focused implementations.

We are a fortunate District, with a committed Board of Education supporting our work and closely monitoring our future needs. Likewise, members of the District 96 community are active partners in contributing to our students' success and enjoyment of their school experience.

I invite you to discuss with your students what they are learning, to volunteer in our schools, to attend District informational and Parent Network programs, and to keep connected by reading Superintendent Messages and Principal's Messages and E-NEWS 96 communications sent by email throughout the school year. Don't underestimate the importance of your time, interest, and participation in your students' education - even if they don't always acknowledge it!  Your children will value it and thank you in the future.

I wish your family a wonderful school year.

Superintendent Julie Schmidt
