Students and staff from Ivy Hall Elementary School contributed food and personal items Thursday to the "Stuff the Squad" food drive organized by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

Students and families contributed food and other items and the Ivy Hall staff used about $150 from its Tuesday Blue Jean fund ~ staff make a contribution when they wear blue jeans on Tuesdays ~ to buy items for the donation, according to Ivy Hall Assistant Principal  Kimberly Mollerdino.  The monetary donations given by the staff fund various charities of the staff choosing; this year's funds supported "Stuff the Squad," she said.

Across the district, students and staff contributed more than 920 pounds of food and other items, which stuffed four police squads, Buffalo Grove Police Community Officer for Research and Engagement Matthew Mills said.

The collected items will be donated to four area food pantries, Officer Mills said.

Congratulations, everyone!
