Families: A reminder, you are receiving this E-NEWS 96 today because there is no school on Friday, April 15. 

One final push before the day ends, though: Be sure to take advantage of the Early-Bird Discount and register your child for the 2022-23 school year by tomorrow (April 15).

Note These April 15th Deadlines

School is closed tomorrow ~ Friday, April 15 ~ but that date is the deadline for two significant events:

  • Sign-Up for Lottery for Dual Language Program
Deadline for Willow Grove parents to apply to enroll their children ~ who must be fully registered for 2022-23 ~ in the Dual Language Program lottery.  (The form ~ https://forms.gle/L9oLoHVU2EB6dost5 ~ is due by 3 p.m. April 15.) 
  • Early Bird Registration 2022-23 Ends
After April 15, registrations for the upcoming school year will be charged an additional $20 per student. (Find registration information at https://www.kcsd96.org/about/registration.)

Transitioning to Middle School session

Coming up on Wednesday, April 20, parents of 5th Graders, is the “Transition to Middle School,” guaranteed to answer dozens of questions you have about your child entering 6th grade and a whole new school!

This information-packed virtual program begins at 7 p.m. April 20 (via Zoom). 

Hear from Twin Groves Principal Jessica Barnes and Woodlawn Principal/Asst. Principal Greg Grana/Michelle Garlick, who will discuss academics, extracurricular opportunities, and changes that middle school years bring. A highlight?  Current 6th-grade panelists sharing their perspectives.

Transition to Middle School on April 20, 2022

 

2022-23 Kindergarten Kick-Off Event is May 3

Kindergarten Kick-Off is an opportunity for all fully-registered, incoming kindergarten students and families to tour Willow Grove and for those children to experience an activity in a classroom. Families must be fully registered by Monday, April 18, to receive the invitation link for the event. Kindergarten Kick-Off sign-up closes on Tuesday, April 19. During the time children are in classrooms (30 minutes), parents will meet with Willow Grove Principal Jenny Smith for Kindy 101, where they will learn about Willow Grove and common questions families have.
