PARENT LEARNING OPPORTUNITY
STRESS AND SUBSTANCE USE: EXPLORING THE CORRELATION

The District 96 Parent Network and the Stand Strong Coalition (a community-based group serving Stevenson High School and SHS Consortium communities, dedicated to preventing underage drinking and drug use) will co-sponsor a free program on Wed., Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. at Twin Groves Middle School, 2600 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., BG. The presentation topic is Stress and Substance Use.

How does an environment of affluence/high pressure affect kids?
What are the signs of stress overload in teens?
What will be the impact of the sale in Illinois of recreational marijuana?

WAIT. WHAT?  ... THE REQUIREMENT TO RE-PROVE RESIDENCY
Parents of ALL currently enrolled kindergartners and 5th graders whose students will attend in School District 96 in the 2020–2021 school year must prove their residency again.

When school resumes following Winter Break, administrative assistants at Willow Grove and KCSD96 elementary schools will accept proof of residency and provide a required form for your signature.

Please note that the requirement to re-prove residency for a current kindergartner and a current 5th grader applies–even for families who have other students currently attending KCSD96 schools.

2020–2021 CALENDAR CHANGE NOTIFICATION

District 96 has revised the published Quick List calendar for the upcoming 2020–2021 school year.

The revisions made accommodate the alignment of the District 96 Spring Break 2021 with the recently published Stevenson students’ Spring Break 2021.

KINDERGARTEN 2020–2021 PREREGISTRATION DATES SET

Preregister for 2020–2021 kindergarten Wed., Jan. 15, 2020, 5–7 PM drop-in OR Thurs., Jan. 23, 2020, 5–7 PM drop-in at Willow Grove Early Learning Center, 777 Checker Dr., Buffalo Grove.

Parents of incoming kindergartners will need to prove residency with required documents and District forms and to complete a brief online preregistration form. 
Required documents:
• CURRENT monthly mortgage or lease statement or property tax bill AND
• CURRENT utility bill AND
• Student's birth certificate, passport, or visa (photocopy not accepted) AND
RESIDENCY FORM

ENROLLMENT FORM


Parents who preregister their kindergartner on Jan. 15 or Jan. 23 Preregistration Nights or weekdays on Jan. 24–Jan. 31, 9:30 AM–2 PM, will receive a free Willow Grove Student T-Shirt for their incoming kindergartner.
