Happy Friday!

This was a full week, starting with our Board of Education recognizing Student Achievers in music and athletics, and winding up with the “I Am Me …We Are Kildeer” production last night.  Great work, students, parents and staff!

Here’s what happening in the coming weeks:

 

Coming Up:

  • District 96 Half Day: February 19 2024Friday, February 16
    • HALF DAY / School Improvement Day     
    • ECSE/Blended dismiss at 11:10 a.m.
    • Only Blended PM attend, 8:40 to 11:10 a.m.
    • KDG and Structured EC dismiss at 11:45 a.m.
    • Grades 1-5 dismiss at 11:45 a.m.
    • Grades 6-8 dismiss at 11:10 a.m.
  • Monday, February 19
    • NO SCHOOL (District Holiday)
  • Friday, February 23
    • Report period ends, EC-Grade 8

5Essentials Survey for Parents/Guardians

Through March 29th, District 96 invites you to share your thoughts on the inner workings of your child’s school.  On behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. 

As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.  Your participation will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide our improvement. Parent identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.

IN OUR SCHOOLS

We Are Kildeer:  Kildeer Elementary School students, parents and staff celebrated culture and each other at the annual “I Am Me … We Are Kildeer” event on Thursday.  The presentation, the music, the food and culture, the sharing … What a great and wonderful time!

Black History is American History: Kildeer second-graders heard about the history of Black History Month (February) and learned about noteworthy African Americans and their contributions to American society. This presentation was delivered by school parent, mother and author, Mrs. Dunn.
