Try Summer Reading for Elementary and Middle School Students

This summer, we want students to experience the pure joy of reading. Since the purpose of summer reading is to help foster a love of reading, we strongly feel that students should read a book that is of high interest to them and close to the difficulty level of text they would encounter during the school year.

To support our elementary students in continuing to read over the summer, each grade level has a recommended reading list, as well as optional reading lessons that can be completed independently by students. Both the lists and the summer reading lessons can be found on our district website.

Incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be completing a summer reading assignment. This assignment will be shared in current 5th grade, 6th grade, and 7th grade classes. This assignment contains two parts: (1) Read a book! (2) Write a letter to your next year’s language arts teacher.  The assignment is available on the district website.

Beginning Band Registration for incoming 5th grade students 23-24

The District had a very successful Band registration Wednesday night, with many families registering their student for the 5th grade beginning band program.  In case you missed it or forgot about it: The good news is the registration goes until September.

Register your student for the band program now so you can secure an instrument and the necessary materials for your student's success.

Follow this link to the Ivy Hall and Prairie Band sign-up link ~ 5th Grade Band Registration Flyer, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qOsnugcgq3F2agbjGEKMs-2mGC5OmRkh-hYnLx4IlWM/edit ~ to sign up for the band, rent an instrument and get the needed materials.
