As the days move further along in May, we transition into our final robust musical season. This month brings musical showcases and parent and student interest information meetings and sign-ups at our schools. Note dates and times to attend one of these events.

The Hermit Crabs Have Arrived
This week, hermit crabs arrived in District first-grade classrooms! These were asleep when we visited Mrs. Litvan's Ivy Hall class the day after those critters arrived.
Across town, Mrs. Keller’s Kildeer first-graders enjoyed watching their sleepy hermit crabs stir into activity and videotaping them with their iPads.
(Did you know hermit crabs can live up to 30 years in their natural habitat?)
Congratulations, Woodlawn Scholastic Bowl Team!
Congratulations to the Woodlawn Scholastic Bowl Team, which placed first in IESA Regional Tournament last month and second in Sectional competition this past Monday!

In Our Schools …..
This Ivy Hall first-grader shows off her artwork, while she and fellow classmates listen as the teacher reads “A Lost Button,” about Toad and Frog, who go looking for a lost jacket button and find many others along the way.
