From Our Schools

Kildeer Countryside Elementary School

This week, first-graders in Mrs. Keller’s class spent some of their day participating in Daily 5 ~ carving out time to either read a book, write something, or engage in some other literacy pursuit of their own. Daily 5 is a literacy framework that instills independent behaviors while creating a classroom environment of highly engaged readers and writers, according to Mrs. Keller. During Daily 5, students will select from meaningful reading and writing activities while the teacher meets with individual students or small groups.

Kildeer School Visit ~ Feb 16, 2022

Meanwhile, down the Kildeer Countryside hallway, Mrs. Goyke’s first-graders were visited by a 5th grader from the Student Council, giving them news about upcoming exciting events.  She then wrapped up the day by listening as students self-reflected and celebrated their day as they gathered up belongings to leave school for the day.
