From Our Schools
… The sound of music has been permeating district schools over the past week ~ including performances at Twin Groves and Woodlawn Middle School. There’s more coming next week!
Tech on Tap
At Thursday night's Thought Exchange Partnership meeting, District Technology Innovation Coach Howard Frishman and Tech Director Lucas Cowden discussed the district's tech hardware and security and how other technology is used in the classrooms by students and staff.
They shared how the district Learning Centers and classrooms are becoming places where students learn about and experiment with technology such as Tetrix Prime Robotics, 3D printers, Glowforge Laser Cutters and Airblock drones ~ programming or coding them to answer a teacher's challenge or handle a task and create items. Materials like Keva Planks are used to build architectural designs like Chicago skyscrapers. They also showed how technology is being used to create interactive playgrounds for students. Exciting stuff.
