November, already?

Can you believe we’re on the doorsteps of November already, the penultimate month of the calendar year, when we start to plan for various end-of-the-year activities?

But before November slips in, we know many of you ~ little and big kids at heart ~ are gearing up for some festivities this weekend.  Have fun, AND stay safe, everyone!

In the coming month, we look forward to the round of musical events our dedicated music teachers have planned in our schools, with these talented students wowing us with what they’re learning.  (Be sure to note those students who earned spots at the ILMEA Music Junior Festival and will be performing next Saturday, Nov. 6.) This month is also bittersweet, as we move into the fourth of five phases in our Superintendent Search.  The District’s consultants interview selected Superintendent applicants, intending to recommend a short list to the board to interview. The board plans to make a selection at its Dec. 14 meeting.

Oh, before we forget: In another week, turn your clocks back an hour ~ ‘fall back’ ~ on Sunday, November 7 (when Daylight Saving Time ends).

FROM OUR SCHOOLS

Prairie Art

This week, Mr. Morris’ Prairie second-graders finished their sea creature relief paintings and shared images of their artwork with their parents, photographing the pictures with their iPads and  uploading that to the Artsonia app.  In his next class, first-graders learned to use the app Assembly to create emojis.

Rain did not dampen the spirits at District 96 schools on Friday, where students and staff celebrated the coming holiday this weekend ... Country Meadows was no exception.
