NEWCOMERS INVITED VIRTUAL MEETINGS
Has your family recently moved to the United States, or are you and your students new to our school area/community? This virtual meeting for newcomers is an informal opportunity for parents who are experiencing our social customs and practices of teaching and learning for the first time.

The District has scheduled these virtual conversations by school and has sent or will be sending emails with links to the families for whom this opportunity is intended. For more information, please send an email to District 96 Community Parent Liaison Lubna Andrabi

KIDS HELPING OPPORTUNITY and HELP RESTOCK THE PANTRY
Paper bags are needed at the ELC food pantry. If you’d like to involve your children in helping their community, paper bags (large grocery size) decorated with their hopeful messages and artwork will be welcomed.

Donations of the following pantry items from families able to do so also are needed:
macaroni & cheese (cups or boxes) and Helper Meal Kits, canned foods (veggies/fruits/tuna/chicken/beans), granola bars, pasta sauce/pasta, cereals and oatmeal, and dried beans and rice.

Please deliver on weekdays when school is in session only to collection boxes outside the Exceptional Learners Collaborative (ELC) front entrance, 990 Corporate Woods Parkway, Vernon Hills, from 8 AM–3 PM. Ring the doorbell if delivering perishable items or gift cards or if there is not a collection box outside the door. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing when delivering your donations.

BREAKFAST/LUNCH FOR STUDENTS IS AVAILABLE
KCSD96 families may pick up breakfast/lunch for their students. Drive-up pick-up is in front of the Exceptional Learners Collaborative (ELC) building, 990 Corporate Woods Pkwy, Vernon Hills from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. weekdays when District 96 students have school. Please pull up to the sign and remain in your vehicle. Children do not need to accompany parents to receive meals and pantry items. Meals may be delivered in extenuating circumstances. Questions? Contact [email protected]
