MAKING PAYMENT FOR STUDENT LUNCHES
The K-12 PAYMENT CENTER is the system KCSD96 uses to allow parents to make online prepayment of their students’ lunches. Use a debit or credit card to make deposits (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover). The following fees (recently revised) apply:
–Transactions up to $100 will receive a flat transaction fee of $1.95
–Transactions over $100 will receive a transaction fee of 2.99% of the total prepayment
Coming later this fall: ACH (Electronic Checking Account) payments will allow an unlimited deposit amount for a minimal transaction fee. Watch E-NEWS 96 for more info....

WHEN WILL THERE BE ACCESS TO THE ONLINE 2019-20 FAMILY DIRECTORY?
Later this month, District 96 parents will receive an email from our online Family Directory vendor with information about how to log in with their temporary password. Instructions about setting a password, searching the directory, and downloading the mobile app will be included in that email. Note that access to this District 96 2019–20 Student Family Directory is limited only to District 96 parents of registered students. NO link will be posted to give public access to 2019–20 directory information.

We anticipate sending the directory access emails on or around Aug. 30.

In the meantime, families who were included in the previous school year’s online directory still have access to that 2018–2019 directory. Find the Student Family Directory link in the drop-down “Directory” menu located at the top of District and school home pages.

LOTS OF INFO ON OUR WEBSITE: VIRTUAL BACKPACKS
One question we’ve heard you’re asking: What’s a Virtual Backpack?
The District 96 district and school websites each have one–a place where links to flyers for community events and to school forms such as reading calendars or school event permission forms are listed.

A link to the Virtual Backpack on the District website is included weekly under COMMUNITY NEWS at the end of every E-NEWS 96 issue. Be sure to click each week to see what’s listed–links are updated frequently. In the District VIRTUAL BACKPACK, you’ll also find links to your student’s school Virtual Backpack – a convenient way to jump from one virtual backpack to another.
