LUNCH LEFTOVERS?
Does your graduating 8th grader have a positive lunch balance?

Positive lunch account balances (any amount) may be transferred to a younger sibling enrolled in District 96, Grades 1–8, for the 2019–20 school year. 

Make or request your transfer NO LATER THAN Fri., June 7. 

To make the transfer online:
Log into your K–12 PAYMENT CENTER account and select “Transfer Funds” on the left side of the website home page. OR
To request a transfer if you have not yet established an account:
Send a “Lunch Account Balance Transfer Request” email to Cassie Smalley in the Business Office. Include the following info: Names of BOTH the graduating 8th grader AND the remaining D96 sibling whose account should receive the transferred amount.
 
Note: All un-transferred positive lunch account balances in excess of $10 will automatically be refunded. A check will be issued on June 19 and will be mailed to the home address included in our database.

Hundreds of proud parents joined the Board of Education and District teacher coaches and sponsors on May 14 in honoring our middle school students for their dedication, diligence, and excellence in Math Counts and Stevenson High School Math Competitions; Chicago Metro History Fair; National Geographic Bee; Outstanding Student Technology; National Spanish Exam; Patriot Athletic Conference Track; Patriot Athletic Conference Wrestling; Patriot Athletic Conference Volleyball; Patriot Athletic Conference Basketball; Science Olympiad; IGSMA Band Competition–Woodlawn; and Illinois Young Writers. Friends & Alumni of KCSD96 2019 Scholarships were awarded to the following Class of 2019 Stevenson High School seniors who are alumni of School District 96:

Brett Myers–Marc E. Spivak Scholarship (Twin Groves alumnus)
Miranda Liu–Marc E. Spivak Scholarship (Woodlawn alumna)
Meghan Oh–Dr. Thomas W. Many Scholarship (Twin Groves alumna)

Two $1,000 service scholarships are given in recognition of former District 96 Board of Education and Foundation President Marc Spivak’s long-standing devotion and service to the children of our community. Two $1,000 educational scholarships recognize former District 96 Superintendent Dr. Thomas Many’s commitment to helping every child learn to his or her maximum potential. The $1,000 scholarship honoring former District 96 Board of Education Member Lauren S. Gordon’s memory is a lifelong learning scholarship recognizing her commitment to the mission and vision of School District 96 and the value that “Learning has no boundaries.”


LAST-DAY-OF-SCHOOL CALENDAR REVIEW
• Fri., May 24, 2019–For 8th graders only, the last day of school, a half day 
(Dismissal at 11:10 a.m.)

• Tues., June 4, 2019–For Willow Grove students (except Blended PM*) and Grades 1–7, the last day of school, a half day–assuming no more Emergency Days are needed
(Dismissal for Willow Grove full- and half-day KDG and SLC students and Grades 1–5 will be at 11:45 a.m. Dismissal for Grades 6 and 7 will be at 11:10 a.m. )
(* The last day of school for Blended PM students only is Mon. June 3, assuming no more Emergency Days are needed.)


GRADUATION INFO 
The District 96 8th-Grade Class of 2019 will graduate on Tues., May 28, at Stevenson High School, 1 Stevenson Dr., Lincolnshire, IL.
