ENTERING/EXITING DISTRICT 96 SCHOOLS
Will you be in a KCSD96  school on Halloween as a designated PTO classroom party helper? Plan ahead to beat the Oct. 31 rush....

For any KCSD96 parent who hasn’t visited your student’s school yet this year and had your driver’s license scanned, this is a reminder that you’ll need to do so if you plan to be in the building while school is in session.

Consistent with our strong commitment to our students’ and staff’s safety, the District updated its visitor management software prior to the start of this school year. This is a “fresh start”; that is, it requires that all visitors’ driver’s licenses be scanned by office staff upon their first school visit in this 2018–19 school year. Licenses scanned in previous years did not carry over and must be scanned again.

If possible, visit the school office to have your driver’s license scanned before the date you’ll be volunteering.

Once your license has been scanned, you’ll receive a printed adhesive badge. Please wear it where it will be visible to students and staff–not covered by a coat, for example.

When exiting the building, do so ONLY through the main office doors by which you entered originally. Also, please be sure before leaving to sign out electronically as directed by office staff, so there is an accurate count of building occupants at all times.

REMINDER: KCSD96 TEXT MESSAGE OPT-IN PROCESS  Have you texted YES?
District 96 uses the School Messenger system to communicate with our parent community by email and–in some instances–also by text message and/or phone call.

If you would like to receive text messages from School District 96 when the subject and nature of the communication warrant our sending them (to advise you of a late-returning bus or other change in routine, for example), it’s necessary for you first to have sent a text message of Y or YES to this District 96 short code number: 67587. Or, if you prefer, use your mobile phone to scan the QR code in this School Messenger FLYER (English & Spanish) and send your Y or YES reply.
To opt out of our text messages, simply reply STOP to any text message District 96 sends you. Please be advised that standard message and data rates for text messaging may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
