RESOLVE TO READ REGULARLY
Kildeer Countryside School District 96 (KCSD96) will communicate with our parent community every Friday through E-NEWS 96 and through Principal’s Messages from each school in which you have a student enrolled. Our expectation is that you read these email messages weekly. They’re the main tools we use to keep you informed. If you stop receiving Friday emails from District 96 or have questions, please contact the public information coordinator or call 847.459.4260, ext. 8022.
IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE –Update your calendar…
• Classroom teacher assignment/Middle School schedule/Middle School locker number & combination/Bus Info Communication: Thurs., Aug. 9, after 4 p.m.
As done last year, KCSD96 will use email to send information regarding classroom teacher assignment, middle school schedule, middle school locker number & combination, bus route number and pick-up/drop-off times/location. These emails will be sent to both parent email addresses that were provided by registering parents through online registration. Check for these emails after 4 p.m. on Aug. 9. If you do not receive this info on Aug. 9, one or more of the following might be the reason:
–The school nurse does not have your student’s required health info requested during online registration
–Required registration payment still has not been received for families who selected “check” as their method of payment
• Meet the Teacher: Tues., Aug. 14:
Grades 1–5: 8:30–9:30 a.m. at elementary schools
Kindergarten, Early Childhood/Blended AM, & Structured: 10–11 a.m. at Willow Grove
Early Childhood/Blended PM: 11:30–12:30 p.m. at Willow Grove
• Locker Set-Up Day: Tues., Aug. 14:
Grades 6–8: 4–7 p.m. at Twin Groves & Woodlawn Middle Schools
• First day of school for all District 96 students: Wed., Aug. 15.
This is also an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed on the following schedule:
Full-day kindergarten & Grades 1–5 dismiss at 2 p.m.
Grades 6–8 dismiss at 1:30 p.m.
Willow Grove Early Childhood Blended AM Students attend 8:45–10:45 AM
Willow Grove Early Childhood Blended PM Students attend Noon–2 PM

PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO) PURCHASES MADE EASY
AFTER you receive teacher assignments and middle school schedules on Aug. 9, plan to log in (or create an account in) your PTO Membership Toolkit for EACH school at which you have a student attending. This is the way you will be able to purchase school spiritwear, Special Lunches and Dessert Days, volunteer, and much more. Need more info? Check your school’s PTO Facebook page.

BEGINNING BAND & ORCHESTRA REGISTRATION–IT’S NOT TOO LATE!
Just a reminder to register your child for Beginning Band and Orchestra! Students must be going into Grade 5 to join the band and into Grade 4 to join the orchestra. These students will start band and orchestra in August 2018. Please see the links below for more information. We look forward to seeing the students in the fall!

Construction detours in School District 96 may make accessing schools a challenge. Please note that this construction and these detours are planned by the Lake County Division of Transportation and the local village–not School District 96.
