APPLAUSE FOR OUR KCSD96 SCHOOL BOARD
The Kildeer Countryside School District 96 Board of Education is one of only 20 statewide to earn School Board Governance Recognition from the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB).

This recognition acknowledges the diligence of District 96 Board President Marc Tepper, Vice President Renee Klass, Secretary Mike Burns, and Members Elizabeth Dietz, Jim Strezewski, Meg Woodman, and Cynthia Zarkowsky.

These volunteers’ dedication to District 96 students, faculty, and families extends far beyond simply attending meetings. Their continuing education to equip themselves to make decisions knowledgeably and work together effectively distinguishes them as a Board modeling excellence in supporting public education.

Also, Mrs. Klass and Mr. Tepper continue to be designated as Master Board Members for their leadership, service, and participation in a variety of IASB activities and programs supporting their Board peers in public education.

WILLOW GROVE ENVIRONMENT DESIGN EARNS HONORABLE MENTION
The Willow Grove Early Learning Center in Kildeer Countryside School District 96 has been awarded Honorable Mention by a jury of school administrators and architects for excellence in educational environment design.

In August 2016, the District opened a full-day kindergarten program for the first time. Renovations to the Willow Grove Early Learning Center beforehand included physical updates and additions needed to accommodate more students for a longer day.

Twenty-five projects were selected for recognition by the Illinois Association of School Boards Service Associates. The juried awards program recognizes school designs used for instructional, recreational, administrative, and other purposes.

In November, attendees at the Illinois Joint Annual Conference of school boards, administrators, and business officials will have the opportunity to see the Exhibition of Educational Environments, featuring Willow Grove and other school design projects selected to be showcased.
