In one room incoming SHS students hear from SHS Catalyst students and have a casual, candid Q & A opportunity about social life at school and on weekends for SHS students.

Parents of incoming SHS freshmen hear from SHS Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator Dr. Cristina Cortesi, law enforcement officers, and other experts on social hosting considerations and ways you can support your student’s social transition to SHS.

You’re invited to Sunset Foods 2nd-floor Community Room in Long Grove on Tues., May 2, 9–10:15 a.m., for interesting conversation with KCSD96 parents with students of all ages/grade levels. We’ll get acquainted, discuss a topic relevant to parents, and choose speakers, topics, and book studies for some 2017–18 parent programs. All are welcome! This is an ideal opportunity for those new to the District to meet other parents and help build a connected D96 parent community. Arrive late or leave early as your schedule requires. Questions? REGISTER YOUR RETURNING KCSD96 STUDENT SOON TO SAVE   Fees increase after May 19
2017–18 Registration is underway. Registration emails have been sent for all currently enrolled students who will attend District 96 schools next year. Your prompt registration of your student is important, as it helps us anticipate staffing needs. Registration fees for returning students will increase by $20 per child after May 19, so don’t delay.
If you have questions or need your student’s registration email sent again, please call the administrative assistant at your child’s current school, call 847.459.4260, ext. 8022, or send email to the public information coordinator.

CLUBHOUSE PARENTS TAKE NOTE!
Attention District 96 parents of Willow Grove full-day kindergartners and students grades 1–5 who use Clubhouse before-/after-care in District 96 schools:
Clubhouse registration opens May 1 for the 2017–18 school year. An informational meeting for parents new to and considering Clubhouse is scheduled for Thurs., Apr. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Alcott Center, 530 Bernard Dr., BG. Questions? Call 847.850.2134.
