KCSD96 Teacher Named Lake County Educator of the Year in Early Educator Category

KCSD96 is proud to celebrate the outstanding educators recognized at this year’s Lake County Educator of the Year Awards. Nominated by their school administrators, these staff members were honored for the meaningful impact they make each day across our district and school community.
This year, we are especially excited to share that KCSD96’s own Ashley Dyer was named the Lake County Early Educator of the Year, an incredible honor recognizing her excellence among educators across all of Lake County.
Other KCSD96 nominees include: Sue Petersen from Country Meadows for the Educational Support Professional category, Katie Deger from Ivy Hall for the Diverse Learner Teacher category, Chris Weede from Prairie for the Elementary Teacher category, Jack Maddox from Twin Groves for the Student Support Personnel category, and Adam Swerdlow from Woodlawn for the Middle School Teacher category.
Our nominees and award recipient were celebrated at the Lake County Educator of the Year Dinner held at the Lake County Fairgrounds in spring 2026. Please join us in congratulating Ashley and all of our outstanding nominees on this well-deserved recognition!
