About Us
Kildeer Countryside Community Consolidated School District 96 (KCSD96) is a nationally recognized K–8 district located in southern Lake County, Illinois, serving approximately 3,500 students across seven outstanding schools. Our district includes Willow Grove Early Learning Center, four elementary schools (Country Meadows, Ivy Hall, Kildeer Countryside, and Prairie), and two middle schools (Twin Groves and Woodlawn). We are home to 5 schools recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as Blue Ribbon Schools.
We are proud to be home to a vibrant Dual Language Program, offering instruction in both Spanish and English—50% in each language—designed to foster bilingualism, biliteracy, and cultural competency from an early age.
KCSD96 is powered by over 500 exceptional staff members, including teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, instructional and special education aides, custodians, social workers, school psychologists, and many others—all dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive, and high-achieving environment for every learner.
KCSD96 is also the only district in the nation where every school has been recognized as an International Professional Learning Community (PLC) Model School. With a strong focus on collaboration, continuous improvement, and equity, we are committed to empowering all students to reach their full potential.
Our Human Resources team is honored to support this mission by recruiting, developing, and retaining outstanding professionals who make a lasting impact in our schools and community.

KCSD96 + NIU Partnership in the News
Since the launch of a cohort-based partnership with NIU in 2015, 42% of our KCSD96 teachers have earned a Master of Science in Education in Literacy Education with a specialization in English as a Second Language/Bilingual Education—thanks to the district’s generous full funding of the program.
