High levels of student growth and achievement for all students – ELEMENTARY

• By the end of the 19/20 SY, fully implement the Illinois Social Science Standards (C3) with connections to literacy (continue)

• By the end of the 19/20 SY, re-prioritize literacy standards with vertical articulation, Grades K–8

• Examine instructional activities, rubrics, and assessments aligned to physical education standards, Grades K–8

• By the end of the 20/21 SY, build shared understanding of and implement high-leverage literacy blocks and the foundational aspects of teaching reading through ongoing sustained professional learning and job-embedded support

• Examine potential modifications to the kindergarten day with recommendations to be made by Dec. 2019

• By the end of the 19/20 SY, fully implement new fine arts standards, Grades K–8 (continue)

• By the end of the 20/21 SY, build shared understanding and implement high-leverage literacy classrooms by building knowledge around the foundational aspects of teaching reading for students who need more foundational reading support

• By the end of the 19/20 SY, re-prioritize literacy standards with vertical articulation, Grades K–8

• Examine instructional activities, rubrics, and assessments aligned to physical education standards, Grades K–8

• By the end of the 19/20 SY, examine and pilot theme-based instruction in social studies

• By the end of the 19/20 SY, refine and implement updated middle school problem-solving processes and procedures

• By the end of the 19/20 SY, fully implement new fine arts standards, Grades K–8 (continue)

Continue building capacity and engagement levels ACROSS THE ORGANIZATION

• Over the course of the 19/20 SY, implement and report out on social-emotional learning targets, Grades EC–8

• By the end of the 20/21 SY, audit and supplement curricular resources to ensure all students can see themselves in their learning and expand opportunities for student voice in our equity work

• Over the course of the 19/20 SY, expand communication and learning opportunities through the creation of a D96 community video library to include topics such as iPad usage and screen time, grading and reporting, and extension and acceleration

• Expanding upon the 2019 Grade 6 pilot, implement ongoing interest inventories to students Grades 6–8 and continue to build student leadership opportunities across grade levels (continue)

• Over the course of the 19/20 SY, implement a D96/D125 collaborative study team to examine best instructional and global practices to include service delivery models/structures for targeted subgroups of students
