TAKE A QUICK LOOK
Woodlawn teacher Ryan Zak’s Illinois Education Association grant application gave some students the opportunity to participate personally in community outreach. Students determined needs of the local community and developed an action plan for their service at the Northern Illinois Food Bank this week. TAKE A LOOK (1 min.)

PARENTS, THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY– TUES., APR 18, 9:15–11:30 AM
KCSD96 moms and dads will work side by side to make a difference for hungry kids around the world.

We’ll volunteer together at Feed My Starving Children, 742 East Park Drive, Libertyville, IL. Come with friends and/or come to meet other KCSD96 parents as we work together to scoop, bag, and pack meals. Many volunteers find this experience to be so rewarding they return with their children to participate as a family. We have limited space, so sign up today and save the date!
SIGN UP   Questions? Call the KCSD96 Public Info Coordinator 847.459.4260, ext. 8022.

REGISTRATION UPDATE
If your student currently attends a D96 school and will attend a D96 school in the next school year, on Mar. 13 you’ll be sent an email with a unique link to carry out 2017–18 registration online. Please set a reminder or make a note to watch for that March 13 registration email from KCSD96.

WAIT–DO I NEED TO PROVE RESIDENCY?
If your student is a kindergartner or a 5th grader this year, the answer is YES.

How to prove residency:
At Willow Grove or the elementary school your student attends now, please visit the office and present the following:
• a current monthly mortgage OR lease statement OR property tax bill
AND
a current utility bill
On site, the administrative assistant will also provide a form for you to initial and sign.

It’s important to check this off your TO DO list–if you don’t prove residency by Mar. 10 for your current KDG or 5th-grade student, you will not receive a registration email/code for him or her until you do so. (Parent/Teacher conference days on Mar. 9 & 10 are a convenient time to get this done.) Questions? Call the administrative assistant at the school your student attends now. SCHOOL PHONE NUMBERS
